Most of this summer Lily has been naked, she spends a large portion of the day playing with the water hose or in a baby pool. Of course in the early part of summer I would try and put a swimsuit on her every time but that was short lived since I never seemed to be quick enough and she would already be soaking wet by the time I got the swimsuit out. Anyway yesterday she was running around our living room naked and I could see her kind of doing a little pee dance, so I said “Lily do you need to pee pee? If so we need to put a diaper on or go to the potty chair” (we bought the potty chair months ago hoping she would be ready but she was not at all interested in using it for a potty, maybe playing with it or filling it with crackers. But no way was she going to pee in it.) Well the light bulb went off and she ran straight to the potty and went PEE!! I was in total shock, then she asked for “Aunties panties” (we also bought panties to entice her to get out of diapers but all she would say is “like aunties panties”) so we put the little panties on her and we are now off to the world of potty training. She has peed three times in the potty and we are so excited and proud of her! It’s amazing how a little pee in the potty can be such a huge reward as a parent!
Colin turned 4 months! With the doctors approval he has started to eat rice cereal and puréed vegetables. Of course he loves it, it is always a fun milestone when babies start eating real food. He now weighs 16 pounds and is perfectly healthy. God has blessed us with two amazing, healthy children and we are so thankful. I am including Colin’s 4 month photos by Uncle Jeff and Lily’s proud pee pee moment!
Showing off her pee and her lolliepop reward!
